I have completed my first Christmas ball as part of the Merry Knitalong (please consider joining in, full details here: Merry Knitalong). It was a very quick knit and lots of fun. A perfect first-timer fair isle project. My tension is not great but I did manage to knit the ball “2 handed” so I am pretty chuffed!
I used Knit Picks Palette (colourways white and serrano) on size 2.5mm needles.
It’s lovely collaborating with Knitting Sarah on this project, I can honestly say I am having a ball (oh dear… bad pun alert!)
Here are a few photos (taken on my iPhone and edited in Camera+). Enjoy…

It’s so cute! X
Thanks lovely – really easy too

Just saw this and it is perfect timing! I ran across the book a few weeks ago and thought I would order it to get practice with colour knitting and now see that I have some incentive. Thanks Martine!
PERFECT! Please join the KAL over on Ravelry – it would be great to have you on board!
Fantastic, Martine! What a cute bauble – and how organised of you to be thinking about Christmas ALREADY!!!

Hee hee – thanks Carly x
Really? I think your tension looks perfect! Mine is certainly getting better as I go. I’ve noticed that the most recent bauble I made is very slightly smaller than the first ones, so I think is my tension improving through practice (I may have to hide the Reindeer ball at the back of the Christmas tree!)
Hee hee thanks Tony! I am really pleased to be able to call myself a fair isle knitter now. Go us!
